What does documentary wedding photography actually mean?

Documentary wedding photography means we arrive as observers, not directors. We will not ask your guests to gather in a semicircle, and we will not spend forty minutes orchestrating a portrait that looks like it came from a catalogue. We will be in the room — quiet, attentive, and technically prepared — while the real day unfolds around us. The rose-warm light of a late-afternoon Toronto ceremony, the laughter during the first dance, the quiet moment your grandmother has alone near the cake table: those are the images that still mean something in twenty years. We do include a short, focused family portrait session (typically 20–30 minutes) so that immediate family members are well represented. Everything else is observed, not staged.

What the coverage includes

Every wedding package is built around honest documentation and clear communication before the day arrives.

Half-day coverage (6 hrs)

Ceremony through dinner, or preparation through ceremony. Ideal for intimate weddings and elopements. Delivered as a curated gallery of 300–400 high-resolution images with a standard 6-week turnaround.

Full-day coverage (10–12 hrs)

Getting ready through the first dances and cake cut. The complete narrative of your wedding day, delivered as a gallery of 600–900 high-resolution images with a 6-week turnaround.

Ontario travel included

Travel within 80 km of Toronto's Queen West studio is included in all packages. Niagara, the Muskokas, Kingston, and Ottawa are all reachable — ask about travel rates when enquiring.

Online gallery & print files

Every delivery includes a password-protected online gallery, full-resolution download files licensed for personal print use, and a simple ordering link for professional lab prints.

Honest about what we do not do

We do not offer videography, drone footage, same-day edits, or slideshows. Our turnaround is 6 weeks, not 48 hours — because careful editing takes time and we will not rush it. We also do not shoot more than two weddings per weekend, which means your day receives our full attention. If your venue requires a specific style — heavy flash, highly posed editorial portraits — we may not be the right fit, and we will tell you that honestly before any contract is signed.

We barely noticed Mintgstone was at our wedding until we saw the photos three weeks later. Every single image felt like a memory we had actually lived — the ceremony light at Graydon Hall was extraordinary, and they caught it perfectly. The whole experience was low-pressure and professional from the first email.
