Common questions before booking

How far in advance should I book?

For weddings, we recommend booking 6–12 months ahead. Spring and fall Saturdays in particular fill quickly. For portrait and commercial sessions we typically have availability within 2–4 weeks. Event enquiries are best made at least 6–8 weeks before the event date.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. All bookings require a 30% deposit to secure the date, with the balance due one week before the session or event. Wedding bookings require a signed contract alongside the deposit. Deposits are non-refundable but transferable to a rescheduled date within 12 months.

What if the weather is bad on a portrait shoot day?

For outdoor portrait sessions, we monitor the forecast and contact you 48 hours ahead if conditions look difficult. We can reschedule at no charge for genuine weather issues. For indoor sessions, weather is rarely a factor. Weddings proceed as planned regardless of weather — we are prepared for all conditions.

Can I request specific shots or poses?

Absolutely. We encourage clients to share reference images and a priority list before the session. We will work through your list and also pursue moments your list may not have anticipated. The documentary approach does not mean we ignore your preferences — it means we stay alert after the list is done.

From first email to final gallery delivery, everything about working with Mintgstone was clear and well-managed. No chasing, no surprises, and the photos were extraordinary — exactly the documentary style we had wanted after seeing their portfolio.
