Why most portrait sessions feel awkward — and how we avoid that
The standard portrait session goes like this: you arrive, a photographer tells you to stand in a particular way, and you spend the next hour performing a version of yourself you would never recognize on the street. The images come back looking technically correct and emotionally empty. Mintgstone portrait sessions are built differently. We begin every session with 15–20 minutes of simply talking — about the project, the space, anything relevant — while the camera is out but low. By the time we start shooting in earnest, most subjects have genuinely relaxed. The resulting images carry the rose-warm ease of real conversation rather than the stiffness of a formal sitting. Sessions run 60–90 minutes at a Toronto location of your choosing.

All portrait work is shot in natural light at a location that suits the subject — no studio flash, no artificial backgrounds.
Professional headshots
LinkedIn profiles, speaker bios, firm websites — clean, contemporary headshots that communicate confidence without feeling corporate. Delivered in 5–10 selects, colour-graded and retouched to a natural standard.
Family portraits
Relaxed outdoor sessions in Toronto's parks and neighbourhoods, designed around the family's actual dynamic rather than a rigid arrangement. Delivered as a gallery of 40–60 selects.

A note on retouching
Every delivered image receives careful colour grading and standard skin retouching — blemishes, stray hairs, and temporary distractions are removed. We do not alter the subject's facial structure, body shape, or natural features. The goal is to look like yourself on your best day, not a digitally reconstructed version. If a specific retouching style is important to your project, please discuss it with us before the session — not after delivery.
